Which European country should I visit first?
I’m a bit biased…but Italy, if you want a little of everything: art, coastline, countryside, and the best food of your life. Start in Puglia (my favorite region), or pair Rome, Florence, and Positano with my Italian honeymoon itinerary.
When is the best time to visit Europe?
Spring (April to mid-June) and fall (September to October). The weather is warm, the light is golden, and the crowds thin out.
Can you see Spain and Portugal in one trip?
Yes. I did! But you have to give yourself a week in each (at least). Lisbon and Porto pair beautifully with Seville, with day trips outside of the cities themselves, of course. Start with things to do in Lisbon and my Seville itinerary for my top recommendations.
How long should I spend in each spot?
At least three nights per stop, ideally four (or more). Fewer stops, longer stays is always the way I recommend traveling. Travel as if you’re coming back, even if you don’t!
