Mallorca is one of those places that completely steals your heart — warm, golden light, sleepy stone villages, turquoise coves, dusty olive trees, luxurious boutique hotels, and that effortless Mediterranean slow living energy.
I actually spent only two days on the island the first time I visited. I met up with my parents and younger sister, who had already been traveling through Spain, and Mallorca was our first stop together. Because of limited PTO, I flew in late, soaked up every hour I could get, and then continued the remainder of the trip with them to Seville, Lisbon, and Porto.
Even with such a short visit, Mallorca left me with that “I need to come back” feeling. Because our time was so limited, we based ourselves in Palma, which made everything easy — walkable, energetic, lots to see and do. But the second we started exploring beyond the city — Sóller, Deià, Valldemossa — I found myself wishing we’d stayed in one of the island’s calmer, more scenic corners. Mallorca’s magic really lives in its smaller towns, coves, mountain roads, and countryside beauty.
If you want the full story, you can read about our 2-day itinerary for Mallorca — it’s the perfect snapshot itinerary for a quick stop or cruise-style visit. But below is the longer, more research-heavy guide to the dreamiest boutique hotels across the island, a list of “future trip contenders” I’ve been saving, stalking on Instagram, and mentally bookmarking for the next time I get to come back. If you’re searching for the best hotels in Mallorca, you’ve come to the right place — this is my most-loved collection of boutique and luxury stays across the island.
La Residencia, A Belmond Hotel, Mallorca
It truly does not get more iconic than Belmond’s La Residencia, perched high in the hills above the lovely village of Deià. The property is pure Mediterranean romance — terraced gardens, olive trees, stone pathways, and suites tucked into historic houses overlooking the Tramuntana Mountains. As a Belmond property, it sits firmly in that ultra-luxury category (and with price points to match), perfect for a splurge or a milestone getaway.
When we visited Deià, we wandered down to Cala Deià, the famous little rocky cove just below the village. The crystal clear water (turquoise, if you want to get technical), cliffside restaurants, and rugged shoreline felt like something out of a dream. Staying at La Residencia would be the most magical way to experience this corner of the island fully (and luxuriously).
Why it belongs on your list: One of the most iconic hotels not only in Mallorca, or Spain, but in Europe — timeless, romantic, and perfect for travelers craving a “pinch me” experience.
Hotel Valldemossa – The Natural Sanctuary
Valldemossa completely charmed me. A tiny mountain town with stone homes, lovely little cafés, artisan shops, and stunning valley views — it’s soft, peaceful, and picturesque.
Hotel Valldemossa captures that energy beautifully. This adults-only (14+) boutique stay blends modern Mediterranean design with warm natural materials and unreal views of the valley and monastery below. Rooms feel serene and grounding, and while it’s an independent property (not tied to a major hotel group), it has an elevated, almost spiritual calm you’d expect from a wellness retreat. Rates tend to sit in the mid-to-high luxury range, but the setting makes it entirely worth it (from someone who’s witnessed those Valldemossa views).
Why it belongs on your list: A quiet, romantic sanctuary in one of the prettiest towns on the island — ideal for a slower, more relaxing, and restorative Mallorca getaway.
Son Bunyola Resort & Villas
Set across more than 1,000 acres of private coastline and countryside, Son Bunyola might just be one of Mallorca’s most incredible spots ever. Built around three restored historic villas, this Virgin Limited Edition property feels like its own private world — vineyards, citrus groves, sea views, and ultra-luxury interiors.
Because it’s part of Richard Branson’s luxury hotel collection, the experience leans heavily into exclusivity and privacy, with price points that reflect as much. It’s not a points property, but the level of service, intimacy, and scale make it ideal for honeymoons or once-in-a-lifetime trips.
Why it belongs on your list: A breathtaking, secluded stay unlike anything else on the island — perfect for guests who want complete privacy and world-class luxury.
Can Ferrereta
Located in the southeastern town of Santanyí, Can Ferrereta is one of Mallorca’s most beautiful boutique stays — a restored 17th-century home turned into a warm, minimalist, art-filled dream. The design is unreal: pale stone, handmade ceramics, airy rooms, and a courtyard pool that feels like a hideout.
Though it’s not part of a major points program, it shares ownership with Sant Francesc Hotel Singular, and the level of detail and craftsmanship looks well worth it for the price point. Plus, you’re moments from some of the island’s most beautiful coves (Cala Llombards and Cala Santanyí), making this a perfect base for beach-hopping.
Why it belongs on your list: A design-forward, modern retreat with access to Mallorca’s dreamiest beaches.
Sant Francesc Hotel Singular
If you’re starting or ending your trip in Palma (close to the Palma airport), Sant Francesc Hotel Singular is one of the most elegant stays in the city. Housed inside a 19th-century mansion, the hotel blends original architectural details with updated, modern design.
We stayed in a more budget-friendly Palma hotel during our first trip because of timing and logistics — but the city overall is busy, lively, and has plenty to do. But the moment I visited places like Sóller, Deià, and Valldemossa, I wished we’d stayed somewhere quieter. That said, Sant Francesc would be a perfect way to enjoy both sides of Mallorca: culture in the city, day trips into the mountains. It’s an independent boutique property with a higher-end price point that feels absolutely justified by the rooftop pool and its views alone.
Why it belongs on your list: The ideal Palma home base — modern, design-focused, and luxurious without being overly formal.
Finca Serena Mallorca
Set on acres upon acres of vineyards, olive groves, and lavender fields, Finca Serena is a gorgeous countryside retreat designed for travelers looking for a bit of an escape. Everything is soft and serene — minimalist rooms, peaceful terraces, a stunning spa, and a pool overlooking Mallorca’s iconic golden hills.
Finca Serena is part of Small Luxury Hotels of the World (SLH), making it an excellent option for travelers who love luxury. Rates vary but lean pricy, but the combination of wellness options, dining, and the unbelievably beautiful setting makes it one of the island’s most special stays.
Why it belongs on your list: A relaxing, centrally located sanctuary perfect for wellness-focused travelers and those who love small luxury stays.
Grand Hotel Son Net
A beautifully restored property, Grand Hotel Son Net is pure mountain magic — unreal decor, highly manicured gardens, terracotta rooftops, and art-filled interiors that honor the property’s history. The two-level pool deck is stunning, with views that span the valley for a look at the beauty of Mallorca.
The hotel is part of Leading Hotels of the World, which means guests can enjoy Leaders Club perks (hello, upgrades and breakfast). The luxury level is high (like, really high), but the atmosphere remains warm and relaxed — elegance and maximalism, paired with simplicity and modernity (which kind of makes no sense, but also does).
Why it belongs on your list: Historic charm meets modern luxury in one of the most movie-like hilltop settings on the island.
Hotel Corazón
Situated right between two of Mallorca’s most visited villages, Hotel Corazón is a creative boutique stay rooted in art, nature, and slow Mediterranean-style living. The aesthetic leans bohemian and organic — handmade décor, terracotta accents, and open-air spaces designed for lounging with a book (or a spritz).
During our trip, I fell in love with Sóller — the buzzing square, the gorgeous church of Sant Bartomeu, the old wooden tram clattering through town. I imagine staying at Corazón would give you that convenient access to both Sóller and Deià while offering a calming retreat away from the day-trip crowds.
Why it belongs on your list: Artistic, relaxed, and perfectly positioned between two of Mallorca’s most charming destinations!
Mallorca’s beauty is truly something special: part mountain, part sea, part village charm, part quiet countryside. And choosing the right hotel is what turns those various layers into a moment you’ll carry home with you. My first visit was short and sweet, but it was enough to understand how special this island is — and why people return again and again.
In my personal opinion, these hotels represent the best of what Mallorca has to offer: thoughtful design, warm hospitality, extraordinary locations, and that unmistakable sense of calm that makes time feel slower. Wherever you choose to stay, I hope it brings you closer to the version of Mallorca you’re dreaming of!
