Italy Puglia Wedding

The Best Wedding Venues in Puglia, Italy (And the One We Chose)

September 7, 2025

Last Updated on February 22, 2026 by Lauren Belzer Sanford

When you’re planning a destination wedding in Italy from thousands of miles away, there’s a lot of trust (and a little magic) involved. There’s something undeniably special about getting married in Italy — and specifically, Puglia — the warm light, olive groves, and whitewashed masserie felt exactly like the Italy we’d been dreaming of. But finding the venue (without seeing it in person) took a mix of intuition, research, and a lot of screen time.

We never actually toured venues in Puglia before booking ours. Instead, we did what most “modern” couples do: we scoured Instagram and TikTok, devoured every real wedding gallery we could find, and relied on our wedding planner for videos and recommendations to bring the vision to life.

Plan Your Own Destination Wedding in Puglia

The second I saw photos of our venue, Masseria Grieco, something in me just clicked. Even without setting foot on the property, I could picture our entire wedding unfolding there — the warm light, the courtyard dinner, the feeling of magic in the air. Of course, I still did my due diligence and researched plenty of other venues (you have to, when planning from afar!) in case something like price, availability, or logistics steered us elsewhere — but in my heart, I already knew this was the one.

One of my favorite things about our Italian destination wedding, and destination weddings in general, is that they’re often multi-day celebrations. You’ll typically rent out the property for at least two nights (sometimes more). It’s not just about the wedding day itself, but the entire experience: welcome dinners, pool days, pizza parties, and extended time with the people you love most.

If you’re also planning your wedding from abroad or trying to narrow down where to say “I do” in Southern Italy, these are some of the most beautiful and sought-after wedding venues in Puglia that caught our eye during our search.

But before we get into the venues — if you’re in the early stages of planning, I’d highly recommend reading my full destination wedding planning post first. It covers everything I wish I’d known before we started planning from abroad: the timeline, how to work with Italian vendors from abroad, and the moments that surprised us most. Consider it required reading.

A Few Things to Know Before You Start Your Venue Search

Planning a destination wedding from thousands of miles away is equal parts exciting and overwhelming — and I say that as someone who did it. Here’s what I’d tell any couple starting this process:

You might not visit before booking. That’s normal, and it’s okay. We didn’t. We relied entirely on photos, Instagram, TikTok, real wedding galleries, and our planner’s video walkthroughs — and it all worked out more beautifully than I could have imagined. Trust your gut when something clicks.

Your wedding planner is everything. We worked with Giusy D’Ambrosio, and I genuinely don’t know how we would have done this without her. A local planner who knows the venues, the vendors, and the logistics is not a luxury…it’s a necessity when you’re planning from abroad.

Exclusive use is the norm, not the exception. Most Puglia masserias operate on a full property buy-out basis, meaning your guests stay on-site for two to three nights minimum. This is actually one of the best parts of a Puglia wedding, in my opinion. It turns your wedding into a full weekend (or week-long) celebration with welcome dinners, pool days, and late-night dancing under the stars.

Book early — and I mean early. Some venues were fully booked for an entire season by the time we inquired. If you have a date in mind, start reaching out to venues 18–24 months in advance.

Masseria Borgo Ritella – Fasano

Perched on a hillside overlooking the Adriatic, Masseria Borgo Ritella is a modern take on the traditional Apulian masseria. It’s bright, open, and airy, a place where clean lines meet soft stone textures and olive trees can be seen stretching into the distance. The views alone make it stand out: you can actually see the coastline from the property.

What drew us to Borgo Ritella during our research was its bright white design while still keeping traditional charm. It feels more like a boutique resort than a rustic farmhouse, but still carries that unmistakable Apulian feel. With its large pool, manicured grounds, and on-site restaurant, it’s perfect for couples who want an elevated yet easygoing wedding experience in Southern Italy.

Masseria Calderisi – Savelletri di Fasano

A perfect blend of luxury and laid-back charm, Masseria Calderisi feels like the definition of “understated elegance.” This restored 17th-century estate has quickly become one of the most sought-after venues in Puglia (it was already entirely booked up for the 2025 season when we inquired), thanks to its refined design, warm hospitality, and location just minutes from the Adriatic coast. It’s surrounded by olive groves, citrus trees, and a nearby ocean breeze!

What stood out to us during our research was how seamlessly Calderisi combines modern comfort with the rustic soul of a traditional masseria. It has firmly landed on our list of potential masserie to stay at for a future trip.

Best for: Luxury-minded couples, relaxed yet refined weddings, coastal proximity

Masseria Grieco – Ostuni (Our Wedding Venue)

Our wedding venue, Masseria Grieco, the one that stole my heart before I even saw it in person, is tucked among the rolling hills and olive groves just outside the white city of Ostuni. It looks like something straight out of a storybook. Every photo I found during my research made my jaw drop — the arched walkways, the cobblestone courtyard, the trulli rooftops glowing under golden hour light. It felt like the perfect balance of rustic charm and timeless elegance, and somehow even more beautiful than I imagined once we arrived (I cried).

Because we planned everything from afar, I relied entirely on photos, videos, and our planner’s walkthroughs — and still, I could feel the magic through the screen. Grieco’s layout is designed for multi-day celebrations: courtyard dinners, aperitivo hours as the sun dips down, and day-after poolside pizza parties surrounded by the countryside. It’s romantic, warm, and deeply personal — the kind of place that makes everyone fall a little bit deeper in love with Italy.

Best for: Multi-day weddings, 60–100 guests, countryside celebrations that feel both elegant and relaxed

Venue Details

  • Nearest Airports: Bari (BRI) — about 1 hour 10 minutes; Brindisi (BDS) — about 45 minutes

  • Accommodation: 25 rooms and suites (sleeping up to 65 guests)
  • Minimum Stay: 2 nights during the week, 3 nights during the weekend on an exclusive-use basis only (according to availability)
  • Pool On-Site: Yes — on the back side of the masseria, surrounded by forest
  • Nearest Town(s): Ostuni (15 minutes), Cisternino (20 minutes)
  • On-Site Parking: Yes — complimentary for guests

Event Details

  • Guest Count (Maximum): Up to 100 guests
  • Wedding Season: May-June & September-October (they don’t host weddings in July or August)
  • Ceremony Types Allowed: Civil (legally binding) and symbolic ceremonies
  • Catering: Internal catering by exclusive vendor, Rotondo Catering

  • Music Curfew/Noise Ordinance: 12:00 a.m. (midnight) on the wedding night, 11:00 p.m. for other events

What we loved about it: Everything. Truly. Grieco felt like the heartbeat of our wedding — laid back yet grand, refined yet easy. The courtyard dinner under the lights was straight out of a dream, and every corner of the property felt like a movie set. If I could plan it all over again, I’d still choose Masseria Grieco a thousand times.

Masseria Le Torri – Polignano a Mare

Of all the masserie we researched, Masseria Le Torri was one of the few we actually got to experience in person, and it was every bit as dreamy as it looks online. Family-run and wonderfully intimate, this whitewashed piece of heaven near Polignano a Mare feels like stepping into a slower, softer version of life. Every corner is filled with charm: sun-soaked gravel courtyards, the property’s cats swishing their tails as you walk by, and quiet spaces that overlook the surrounding olive and fruit groves.

What struck me most about Le Torri was its warmth, not just from the golden sunshine (because trust me, it gets warm), but from the people who run it. The owners made us feel like old friends rather than guests, greeting us with the biggest smiles and stories about the property’s history. It’s peaceful, romantic, and full of heart — the kind of place that instantly feels like home.

Le Torri was a close runner-up to our venue when it came to the wedding itself, just a bit too small for how many people we wanted to have on-site with us. I’m still glad we still got to experience it with our families, though, because it was just as magical for stay as I’m sure it would be for a wedding. You can read more about our experience in my full review of our stay at Masseria Le Torri.

Best for: Intimate weddings, couples who value hospitality and charm, pre-wedding stays, or honeymoon escapes

Venue Details

  • Nearest Airports: Bari (BRI) — about 45 minutes; Brindisi (BDS) — about 1 hour
  • Location: Countryside near Polignano a Mare, between the Adriatic and olive/fruit groves
  • Accommodation: 9 rooms and suites (sleeping up to ~20 guests)
  • Minimum Stay: 2–3 nights (exclusive-use recommended for weddings)
  • Pool On-Site: Yes — saltwater pool surrounded by lemon trees
  • Nearest Town(s): Polignano a Mare (10 minutes), Monopoli (15 minutes)
  • On-Site Parking: Yes — complimentary for guests

Event Details

  • Guest Count (Maximum): Up to 60 guests
  • Wedding Season: May through October
  • Ceremony Types Allowed: Symbolic or intimate civil ceremonies
  • Catering: Outsourced
  • Weather Backup Plan: Indoor restaurant
  • Music Curfew/Noise Ordinance: Midnight outdoors; extension possible with approval
  • On-Site Coordinator: The owners and staff help organize private events in partnership with local wedding planners

What we loved about it: Le Torri is pure magic. It’s peaceful, personal, and endlessly photogenic. It’s the kind of place where time slows down, breakfast is lingered over, and every moment feels highly intentional. We loved it so much that I featured it multiple times, in 3 Masseria Hotels to Visit in Puglia and Where to Stay in Puglia: Boutique Hotels & Dreamy Masserie posts — and it remains one of my all-time favorite boutique hotels around the world, the perfect stay even if you’re not planning a destination wedding.

For the most up-to-date info and pricing, contact Masseria Le Torri at info@masserialetorri.com.

Masseria Moroseta – Ostuni

A modern architectural masterpiece surrounded by centuries-old olive trees, Masseria Moroseta is the definition of simple luxury. Designed by world-renowned architect Andrew Trotter, this minimalist white-stone farmhouse perfectly brings together Apulian craftsmanship with contemporary design. It’s minimal, soulful, yet effortlessly beautiful (though I’m sure it took a lot of thought and effort to design).

What drew us to Moroseta during our research was its simplicity, a reminder that sometimes, less really is more. Everything here feels intentional: it’s a venue that speaks to couples who value design, intimacy, and authenticity over extravagance — a true modern escape in the heart of the Puglian countryside.

Best for: Intimate weddings, design-focused couples, minimalist and modern celebrations

  • Minimum Stay: 3 nights minimum for exclusive-use events
  • Pool On-Site: Yes — minimalist infinity pool with countryside views

  • On-Site Parking: Yes — complimentary for guests

Event Details

  • Guest Count (Maximum): Up to 80 guests for weddings and events

  • Ceremony Types Allowed: Symbolic ceremonies only (civil ceremonies held off-site)
  • Catering: In-house or by preferred local chefs
  • Weather Backup Plan: Covered courtyard or indoor dining space for small groups
  • Music Curfew/Noise Ordinance: Midnight curfew outdoors (strict due to zoning)

What we loved about it: Masseria Moroseta feels like a work of art. It’s simple, soulful, and absolutely beautiful. It’s perfect for couples who want their wedding to feel more like a small, intentional gathering than a grand production!

For the most up-to-date info and pricing, contact Masseria Moroseta at info@masseriamoroseta.it.

Masseria San Paolo Grande – Ceglie Messapica

For couples dreaming of something rustic, historic, and deeply romantic, Masseria San Paolo Grande is pure old-world charm. Dating back to the 1400s, this countryside property has been restored, preserving its limestone walls, vaulted ceilings, and weathered details. It’s the kind of place that feels untouched — quiet, authentic, and incredibly atmospheric.

What we loved about San Paolo Grande when researching venues was its sense of history. It leans into its roots with candlelit dinners in ancient courtyards, lush olive groves for ceremonies, and interiors filled with rustic character. For couples who want that true “Under the Apulian Sun” feeling, this one might just be the hidden gem you’ve been searching for.

Best for: Rustic countryside weddings, old-world Italian charm, couples seeking something unique

From centuries-old masserie surrounded by olive groves to modern vineyard estates and boutique hideaways by the sea, Puglia truly has a venue for every kind of couple. Whether you’re planning from abroad as we did, or just beginning to dream up your Italian celebration, I hope this guide makes the search feel a little less overwhelming — and a lot more exciting.

For us, choosing Masseria Grieco was love at first sight. But researching all of these venues reminded me just how many incredible options Puglia has to offer. No matter which one you fall for, you’ll find that every detail — from the long tables under twinkling lights to the sound of laughter echoing through the courtyard — feels a little like magic.

Plan Your Own Destination Wedding in Puglia

  • Wedding Planner: We used Giusy D’Ambrosio — she’s the reason everything came together so seamlessly. Visit giusydambrosio.com to set up a discovery call with her!
  • Getting to Puglia: Fly into Bari (BRI) or Brindisi (BDS), depending on your wedding venue’s location and/or available flights. Search flights on Expedia or Booking.com to compare options.
  • Where to Stay in Puglia: Not sure where to stay if you’ll be spending more time in Puglia outside of your wedding, or simply want to make recommendations for friends and family? Check out my guide to Where to Stay in Puglia: Boutique Hotels & Dreamy Masserie, 4 of Puglia’s Most Luxurious Hotels, or hand-selected lists of Airbnbs and vacation rentals that have caught my eye.
  • Explore with Your Guests: Book day trips, cooking classes & other Puglia experiences on Viator.
  • Stay for the Honeymoon: We stayed in Puglia for another three nights following our wedding. Check out our full 12-day Italian honeymoon itinerary. Planning your own Italian wedding or honeymoon and want a trusted set of eyes on your vision? I’d love to help.

who am i trying to impress?👀✨

the younger version of me who thought traveling to dreamy destinations was something other people did. the girl who would have been thrilled just to go to some of these places once. who wouldn’t have imagined visiting some of the places she has (some multiple times) …

i’ve wandered Rome more than once, sat on the rocky beaches of Mallorca in the late summer sun, admired places up close that that i used to pin on Pinterest like they weren’t even real ...
