If there’s one thing you should know about me, it’s that I’ll never say no to a luxurious hotel…Auberge properties are firmly at the top of my list, especially my dear Stanly Ranch in Napa Valley. But my heart? It belongs to boutique stays. The kind of places where every stone wall and olive tree feels like it’s been there for centuries, where breakfast is served in a sunny courtyard, and where the staff greet you like old friends.
Puglia, my new favorite region in Italy, tucked into the heel of Italy’s boot, is filled with these kinds of stays. Here, ancient masserie (fortified farmhouses) have been transformed into intimate hotels, each with its own personality, history, and sense of place. When we planned our trip for our wedding and honeymoon, I fell head over heels for the selection, so much so that it was almost impossible to choose.
I’ve previously shared the three properties in Puglia we experienced and adored, but here, I’ll share a few more of the boutique hotels and masserie that caught my eye while planning and are now firmly on my “next time” list.
Borgo Egnazia
★★★★★ | Savelletri
If you’re looking for the ultimate Apulian luxury stay, Borgo Egnazia is a legend. Designed to resemble a traditional Puglian village, its winding cobblestone lanes, creamy stone walls, and hidden courtyards make you feel like you’ve stepped into another world. The scale is impressive, but it’s the details that keep it intimate.
This is where Hollywood celebrities vacation in complete privacy (fun fact: Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel got married here back in 2012), and where service feels both polished and personal. The property is home to multiple restaurants, including the Michelin-starred Due Camini, a world-class spa, and pools scattered throughout the grounds. It’s the kind of place where you can go from morning yoga to a private beach club without ever glancing at your watch.
While it’s far larger than most boutique stays in Puglia, it somehow still captures that soulful sense of place — just with an extra dose of glamour.
Masseria Amastuola Wine Resort
★★★★ | Crispiano
Wine lovers, take note — Masseria Amastuola is surrounded by one of Puglia’s most beautiful vineyards, its rows of vines worth marveling at. This was actually one of the spots we considered for our destination wedding in Puglia!
The masseria combines rustic charm with modern amenities, offering spacious rooms and a peaceful, rural setting. Wine tastings and vineyard tours are a must, and the on-site restaurant pairs local dishes with their signature vintages. Staying here means waking up to sweeping vineyard views and ending the day with a glass of the estate’s own wine in hand.
It’s the ultimate countryside escape for anyone who believes great travel should include wine!
Masseria Calderisi
★★★★ | Savelletri di Fasano
This is the one that got away on our trip — and my personal favorite on the “next time” list. Masseria Calderisi blends history and romance, with centuries-old stone walls wrapped in bougainvillea and interiors that feel effortlessly chic. It’s intimate without being too small, offering both privacy and the kind of communal spaces that invite slow, lingering afternoons.
The property also boasts its own private beach club, Calderisi Mare, which feels like an extension of the masseria — refined, relaxed, and designed with comfort in mind. Suites open to sunny patios or gardens, and the pool area is framed by citrus trees!
I know I haven’t stayed here yet, but I imagine it’s the sort of place where you could spend your entire stay without ever leaving the grounds. But if you do venture out, you’re minutes from the coast and some of Puglia’s best dining. I already know I’ll be back here one day, and I’m counting down until that happens!
Canne Bianche Lifestyle & Hotel
★★★★ | Torre Canne
If you want to wake up to the sound of the sea, Canne Bianche is the answer. This boutique resort sits right on the Adriatic, giving you instant access to the sea without sacrificing style.
Rooms are bright and airy, with soft coastal tones and private terraces. The pool is surrounded by loungers and palm trees, while the spa offers treatments designed to help you fully unwind. According to reviews, dining here is a highlight, with seasonal menus inspired by both land and sea.
It’s the perfect pick if you want to start your day with a swim in the ocean and end it with a glass of wine under the stars!
Don Ferrante Dimore di Charme
★★★★ | Monopoli
Perched dramatically on the old city walls of Monopoli, Don Ferrante offers front-row views of the Adriatic. Its historic stone structure feels like it’s part of the town’s fabric, and the interiors are refined and romantic. They were fully booked when we looked, so it is a property you want to book well in advance!
Rooms are cozy yet luxurious, many with balconies overlooking the sea. Breakfast is served on a terrace where you can watch fishing boats drift into the harbor. In the evening, the surrounding old town comes alive with wine bars, seafood restaurants, and narrow streets begging to be explored.
Masseria Grieco
★★★★ | Ostuni
Masseria Grieco is where our wedding unfolded — and because of that, it will forever hold a piece of my heart. Set in the rolling countryside outside Ostuni, it’s a storybook backdrop of stone archways, cobblestone courtyards, and sweeping views of olive groves that seem to stretch endlessly in every direction.

Every corner feels like a photograph waiting to be taken: stone walkways, weathered wooden doors, and that gorgeous central courtyard where we gathered with our family and friends. The interiors strike the perfect balance between history and modern comfort, with suites that feel authentic but updated.
And then there’s the light — the way the sun hits the stone in the evening is pure magic. It’s a place that feels both grand and intimate, and I can’t imagine having celebrated anywhere else.
Masseria Le Torri
★★★★ | Polignano a Mare
A whitewashed dream just minutes from the Adriatic Sea, Masseria Le Torri feels like stepping into a postcard of Puglia. Surrounded by citrus trees and olive groves, it’s a place where mornings start with quiet and the scent of freshly baked pastries drifting from the kitchen.
The masseria has just a handful of suites, each designed with an effortless elegance that blends rustic charm and refined details — arched stone ceilings, carved wooden doors, and private patios where you can sip espresso (or a spritz) in the sun. The courtyard is the heart of the property, a serene space where meals can be enjoyed al fresco and evenings end with a glass of local wine under the stars.

We stayed here during our wedding week, and it was the perfect setting to pause, breathe, and soak it all in before the festivities began. There’s a stillness to Le Torri that makes time feel slower — the kind of place you carry with you long after you’ve left.
Masseria Montelauro
★★★★ | Otranto
Further south near Otranto, Masseria Montelauro is perfect if you’re seeking a quieter, more off-the-beaten-path experience. The former monastery-turned-masseria is set among fig trees and olive groves, with a large pool and shaded terraces made for lingering.
Rooms are rustic yet elegant, with whitewashed walls and antique furniture. Breakfasts look delicious and are served in a garden filled with flowers. If your idea of a getaway is slowing down and savoring the quieter corners of Puglia, this is where you’ll find it.
Masseria Moroseta
★★★★ | Ostuni
Minimalist design meets rural romance at this all-white, modern farmhouse just outside Ostuni. Surrounded by 13 hectares of organic olive groves, it blends contemporary architecture with the timeless charm of Puglia’s countryside. Stark white walls and clean lines contrast beautifully with golden fields that stretch toward the sea, creating an atmosphere that feels both serene and cinematic.
With only six rooms, Masseria Moroseta feels like a private retreat. Interiors are pared-back yet inviting — think polished concrete floors, handwoven textiles, and sunlight pouring through arched doorways.
The chef-led Moroseta Kitchen turns seasonal, local ingredients into unforgettable meals, often served communally at a long farmhouse table. The best part, you don’t have to be a guest to indulge! You’re more than welcome to book a reservation for their dining experience, if you can find availability!
While the architecture and food alone are worth the trip, two other residents might steal the show: Brando and Angelina, the English bulldogs who roam the grounds as they own them (and maybe they do). I didn’t meet them last time — Moroseta was entirely booked out during our trip — so I’ll be back one day to fix that.
And if you’re looking for a private experience a la Moroseta…don’t forget about Moroseta Homes for curated holiday homes or Moroseta Boats for a one-of-a-kind nautical experience!
Masseria Santo Scalone
★★★★ | Ostuni
Tucked just in the Ostuni countryside, and not too far from Carovigno, this restored farmhouse is a sanctuary of calm, with lush gardens, a sparkling pool, and terraces shaded by centuries-old olive trees. Masseria Santo Scalone was the kick-off to our honeymoon tour, and a magical boutique stay in beautiful Puglia, to say the least.

The interiors are a mix of soft neutrals and gorgeous prints, creating an artistic atmosphere from the moment you walk in. Our mornings began with leisurely breakfasts in the stunning breakfast room, followed by slow afternoons by the pool and lunches in the restaurant.
Evenings were my favorite — a glass of wine or spritz in hand, the air still warm from the day, a nice breeze. After days of celebration, this was the perfect place to exhale, reflect, and savor our first quiet moments as newlyweds.
Masseria Torre Coccaro
★★★★★ | Fasano
Masseria Torre Coccaro is one of Puglia’s most celebrated masserie. It is a 16th-century fortified farmhouse turned five-star retreat, where history and luxury meet. Just minutes from the Adriatic, it feels like a private estate with sprawling grounds, hidden courtyards, and a pool tucked into the orchard.
Inside, the rooms are rustic yet refined, with vaulted ceilings, stone fireplaces, and antique furnishings. Some suites even have private plunge pools or terraces shaded by jasmine and bougainvillea. The atmosphere is luxurious, but not pretentious!
What makes Torre Coccaro stand out is its range of experiences. Guests can take a cooking class in the ancient kitchen, relax in the Aveda spa set in a natural cave, or spend the day at the hotel’s private beach club with turquoise waters and chic sun loungers. Add in its fine dining restaurant, which focuses on fresh, local ingredients, and you have a stay that embodies both indulgence and authenticity.
For travelers wanting five-star service without losing that soulful masseria feel, Torre Coccaro is a dream.
Paragon 700 Boutique Hotel & Spa
★★★★★ | Ostuni
Paragon 700 is unlike anywhere else in Puglia and somewhere I wish we had time to stay on our trip…next time! This restored 18th-century palazzo is painted a bold terracotta red, a striking contrast to Ostuni’s whitewashed buildings. Inside, no two rooms are alike, each filled with curated antiques, bold colors, and bespoke details.
The underground spa, complete with a hydromassage pool, is like a secret hideaway. The restaurant serves inventive, locally inspired dishes, and the garden — with its pool and daybeds — is a serene escape from the city’s bustle. If you want ultra-luxury with a side of design drama, this is the place.
Final Thoughts
From rustic farmhouses to ultra-luxury retreats, Puglia’s boutique stays offer something for every style of traveler. Whether you want to sip wine by the pool, wake up to sea views, or immerse yourself in centuries-old architecture, there’s a masseria or hotel here ready to steal your heart!
