Polignano a Mare is one of Puglia’s most postcard-perfect towns, whitewashed houses on limestone cliffs above impossibly blue water, and the kind of place where where you stay shapes the whole trip. When Max and I planned our wedding week in Puglia in June 2025, we spent hours looking at rentals here: some just for the two of us for the slow days before our families arrived, others big enough for a group of eleven.
We ultimately went the masseria route, three nights at nearby Masseria Le Torri, which I loved, along with the others in my where to stay in Puglia guide. It was once home to a local fisherman named Tonino and has been lovingly restored, old-world charm intact, with just enough modern comfort. Three levels hold a cozy living area with a balcony peeking toward the Adriatic, a compact kitchenette, and a double bedroom with blue cement tiles that echo the water below. Perfect for a couple, or a solo trip that deserves something special.

On Via Roma, Polignano’s main street of whitewashed alleys, artisan shops, and trattorias, this bright, recently renovated home is about as well placed as it gets. A double bedroom, a sleek bathroom, a living area with a pull-out sofa, and two balconies over the street, for espresso in the morning or aperitivo as the sun goes down. You’re a short stroll from Lama Monachile, the Church of Santa Maria Assunta, and more sea-view terraces than you’ll know what to do with.

Just outside Polignano, TD Casa Fusella is the kind of trullo that makes you feel you’ve truly escaped. Set high with views over the Adriatic, it pairs a traditional trullo with modern comfort, surrounded by a Mediterranean garden with a pool, solarium, outdoor kitchen, and grill. Inside: two double bedrooms, a lounge with a sofa bed (sleeps up to six), a big kitchen, and a light-filled living room opening to the outdoors. You’ll need a car, but the payoff is total privacy in one of the most beautiful corners of southern Italy.

When we were looking for somewhere to host our family during the wedding week, Masseria Lamacerase was genuinely on the table; it was just more space than we needed. I’ve thought about it many times since, because it’s stunning: a restored 1800s masseria of local stone in the countryside among olive groves and vineyards, with five independent apartments, two pools (one with a hot tub), and a solarium made for long afternoons. Each apartment has its own entrance and outdoor space, so a big group can be together and still have room to breathe. For a multi-family trip or a milestone birthday, worth every bit.
